Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! We rigorously test all our products. Our team conducts extreme real-world recovery tests, which you can see on our Instagram @KineticX_Ropes. Additionally, all Kinetic-X ropes and shackles are certified through CERTEX in California to meet industry safety standards.
After testing multiple recovery ropes on the market, we found many didn’t meet our standards (check out our YouTube video on the Sandy Cats channel). That’s why we developed our own, prioritizing safety, durability, and affordability.
A tow strap provides a static pull with no stretch, best for slow, controlled towing. A kinetic recovery rope stretches under tension, storing energy and releasing it smoothly to pull a stuck vehicle free without the harsh jolts of a static strap.
A 30' rope offers more working space for safer, smoother extractions. A 20' rope is better for tight spaces and controlled pulls. We generally recommend 30' ropes, as extra distance helps prevent the recovery vehicle from getting stuck. If you choose a 20' rope, consider adding a 10' bridle for versatility and added reach.
Use a kinetic recovery rope when you’re stuck in snow, mud, or sand. Exception: If your vehicle is buried to the axle in thick mud, a winch may be the better option to break suction.
If a slow, controlled pull is needed, such as preventing further damage to a vehicle, use a winch instead.
Attach the rope only to rated shackles (soft or hard). Do not loop the rope over itself. Always attempt to pull in the same direction the stuck vehicle is facing.
We’re big believers in supporting American-made products, and whenever possible, we encourage you to do the same. If your budget allows, we highly recommend Bubba Ropes—they make excellent ropes (though they don’t offer everything our Titan Kit does). That said, our ropes are made in China in an ISO-certified facility using the same (or better) materials as U.S.-made ropes. The difference? We don’t believe life-saving gear should be out of reach. The same factory that produces our ropes has supplied gear for military, search and rescue (SAR), and even space travel missions worldwide. Our ropes are tested in the USA to meet the highest performance standards, and because we stand behind them 100%, we back them with a lifetime guarantee—because when you're stuck, the last thing you should worry about is your gear. We keep our prices lower not by cutting corners, but because we believe safety should be accessible. Whether you’re commuting through a snowstorm, off-roading in the backcountry, or recovering a buddy from a sketchy situation, we want to make sure you can afford the right gear without putting yourself in jeopardy. Support American jobs, support American products. But if you need a kinetic rope and this economy has you watching every dollar—we’re here to make sure you get home safely. Oh, and while some companies like to play word games with "Made in the USA," we’ll just say this: We’re based in the U.S.—for real. Stop by our shop if you’re in the area!
