How do I hook it to my winch line?

With a soft shackle. Pass it through the eye on the end of your winch line and the eye on the extension, close it, and you're ready to pull. No metal hardware on the line. Don't knot the two lines together: a knot takes a big bite out of any synthetic line's strength and can be nearly impossible to undo after a hard pull.

Will it work with my winch line?

It's built to pair with 3/8 inch synthetic winch lines like our 90 foot armored line, and it's rated at 20,000 lb to match. If your winch runs a heavier line, email your setup to sales@sandycats.com and we'll tell you straight whether it's the right fit.

What comes in the box?

The 50 foot extension, 7/16 inch and rated at 20,000 lb, packed in a green Sandy Cats bag so it lives in the truck without tangling.

Every Kinetic-X rope and shackle is pull-tested to failure by an independent lab in California before we publish a rating. Every piece carries its manufacturing date, so you always know how old it is.

What's the warranty, and how long does it last?

Every piece carries a lifetime warranty under proper use, within its published service life, which starts the day it's shipped. The extension is good for 10 years in service. The full rules and the claim process are on the Warranty and Service Life page .

When do I retire the extension?

Check it end to end after every heavy pull. Retire it if you find torn strands, melted or glazed spots, a section crushed flat, or chemical contact. 50 More Feet When You Need It

The 50 foot extension is rated at 20,000 lb, the same as our 90 foot armored line. Clip it on when the stuck rig is farther out than your line reaches, or when you'd rather keep the two rigs farther apart for a safer angle. It also gives you the length to rig a 2:1 without running your winch down to its last wraps. It's 7/16 inch synthetic, the same fiber as our soft shackles, so it shrugs off UV, abrasion and moisture and coils up small enough to live in the truck.

Don't drag your line over rocks for fun. We did it for testing, to show what this beast can handle. Everything has a breaking point. This line just raises it. Big time.

No Metal On The Line

Both ends are spliced eyes, so it joins the end of your winch line with a soft shackle, wraps a tree or a rock as an anchor, or lengthens a 2:1, all without any metal hardware on the line. Every Kinetic-X rope and shackle is pull-tested to failure by an independent lab in California before we publish a rating, and if it ever takes damage at one end, the eye can be cut off and a new one spliced, the same as our winch line.
